Purdue West Lafayette users may obtain a Purdue Certificate Authority X.509 user certificate by contacting Matt Lundmark (lundmark@purdue.edu) and arranging a time to see him personally and present photo ID in his office, YONG 607. Please bring some form of media for him to save your private certificate files on, such as a flash/thumb drive, CDR, floppy, etc.
Once you have obtained your user certificate files, you will need to transfer them to the machine(s) you will be submitting jobs from, or a common home directory location. You should save these files in your home directory, under the subdirectory “.globus“, which you may have to create. Your certificate will be composed of two files, “userkey.pem” and “usercert.pem“.
Finally, secure your new certificate by assigning a passphrase to it and restricting the Unix permissions:
grid-change-pass-phrase chmod -R g=,o= ~/.globus
